The Harmonium Project
- Artworking
- Visualisation
The Harmonium Project was a projection mapping event to mark the opening of the 2015 Edinburgh International Festival and the 50th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus.
Created by 59 Productions, the show combined John Adams’s choral piece ‘Harmonium’ with a series of spectacular animations, projected onto the outside of the Usher Hall. It attracted an audience of almost 20,000 people gathering on Festival Square.
Working with the University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics, 59 Productions gathered data from musicians and singers as they performed and used it to inspire and drive the video content.
My Involvement
As an intern for 59 Productions, I worked at the very earliest stages of the project on creating visualisations for the show.
I was also involved in exploring possible avenues for combining face tracking technology in animated designs.
