Marnie
- Animation
An opera from composer Nico Muhly with a libretto by Nicholas Wright, Marnie is a compelling psychological thriller based on the novel by Winston Graham and later film adaptation by Alfred Hitchcock.
After opening at the English National Opera, London in November 2017, the production made its American premiere in October 2018 at the Metropolitan Opera, New York.
Set and projection design by 59 Productions.
My Involvement
Working for 59 Productions, I designed and animated video content for three scene locations: the pub, the hospital and Mark’s house.
Each scene followed a collage aesthetic – layering up slowly with simple textures and eventually overlaid with select motifs that were evocative of place and mood.
