Brigadoon
- Animation
- Artwork
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Lerner and Loewe’s classic musical Brigadoon, New York City Center staged a star-studded concert production featuring celebrated talents from stage and screen.
Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon (An American in Paris), Brigadoon was brought to life with set and projection design by 59 Productions. The asymmetric set evoked the musical’s Highland setting and painterly projections transported the audience from village life to New York city lights.
My Involvement
I was assigned three scenes by 59 Productions for which I designed and animated video content to be projected on the set.
Drawing inspiration from tartan, the visuals were stylised with chalky intersecting lines, bisecting the canvas into smaller apertures which frame evocative vignettes.
